Description
LymphaTouch Pro uses controlled negative pressure, pulsation and vibration to lift and mobilize soft tissue. LymphaTouch states that the device “is intended to be used as a tool for manual therapy” and that its intended user “is a healthcare professional with appropriate knowledge of manual therapy.” It is used in a “physiotherapy setting, including hospitals and physiotherapy centers.”
Where it fits in a physical therapy practice
- After surgery: “LymphaTouch can be used as part of the postsurgical rehabilitation to help reduce swelling and pain.”
- Joints: “LymphaTouch is suitable for treatment of acute and chronic joint related injuries and conditions.”
- Scars: “This mechanical lift helps release the scar from underlying muscle or bone in a way that hands alone often cannot achieve.”
- Soft tissue: the manual lists “soft tissue mobilization” among its intended uses, and LymphaTouch’s training covers fascia release, myofascial release and trigger points.
- Common treatment areas: LymphaTouch’s rehabilitation instructions include protocols for the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee and ankle, plus sport recovery.
- For the therapist: it “optimizes work ergonomics and saves your hands.”
